RMHC26 unites practitioners, service providers, and community leaders working in regional, rural and remote Australia to strengthen integrated rural mental health systems, workforce, and communities.
The Rural Mental Health Conference 2026 (RMHC26) brings together those working across regional, rural and remote Australia to improve mental health, wellbeing and recovery. The 2026 theme, "What Works, Where It Matters," shifts the focus from raising awareness to practical implementation — building pathways, capability, and confidence attendees can take back to their own communities and services.
The program is organized around nine learning streams, including place-based prevention, vocational pathways to recovery, digital mental health care, suicide prevention, stepped care and early intervention for the "missing middle," neurodivergence in rural communities, rural women's wellbeing across the life course, disaster preparedness and recovery, and workforce sustainability and leadership.
Delegates typically include rural and regional mental health practitioners and clinicians, community-based service providers, primary care professionals, lived-experience and peer workers, researchers, and policy and workforce leaders. The conference offers both in-person attendance at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, and a virtual livestream option, with CPD points available for both formats.
