A free community wellness festival in Leimert Park featuring sacred sound, African drumming, ancestral healing practices, mental health support, and creative arts.
Alafia Community Healing Fest: "The Sacred Sound & Wellness Experience" is a free, one-day community wellness festival presented by Let's Be Whole and sponsored by Take Action LA, with support from the Office of Councilwoman Heather Hutt (CD10). Held in the heart of Leimert Park Village in Los Angeles, the festival invites the community into a sanctuary where music becomes medicine and collective healing becomes liberation.
The event features an immersive lineup of ancestral healing experiences: Kora music, traditional African drumming, and meditative sound bowl therapy; African dance, poetry, jewelry-making, and tribal mask artistry; herbal tea ceremonies, massage, and mindful healing practices; and a signature "Heritage Foods as Medicine" workshop. At the center of the festival, the Aláfíà Healing Circle offers a guided, sacred space to process community trauma, build resilience, and restore collective joy.
On-site mental health support and wellness resources will be available throughout the event. Admission is free and open to all ages — registration secures a complimentary healing kit. The festival runs from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
