CranioSacral Therapy 1 (CS1) is the foundational course in the Upledger method of CranioSacral Therapy, offered through the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators (IAHE). This four-day hands-on training introduces licensed healthcare practitioners to the assessment and treatment of the craniosacral system — the soft tissues and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Participants learn to evaluate central nervous system function through gentle palpation, identify fascial restrictions and irregularities in craniosacral rhythm, and apply the complete 10-step full-body protocol developed by Dr. John E. Upledger. Additional topics include energy cysts, introductory SomatoEmotional Release concepts, and contraindications for CranioSacral Therapy.
CS1 is open to licensed healthcare professionals including massage therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, chiropractors, and other practitioners experienced in sensitive, light-touch palpation. Completion of CS1 is the prerequisite for all advanced Upledger coursework.
