The world's longest-running consciousness conference (since 1994) brings neuroscientists, physicists, philosophers, and clinicians together in San Diego for six days confronting the hardest questions about mind, experience, and reality.
The Science of Consciousness is the 32nd edition of the field's founding interdisciplinary conference, historically alternating between Tucson, Arizona and international venues since 1994. For 2026 the meeting moves to Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego under its new name, TSC2026.
Fourteen plenary sessions over six days span quantum biology, neuroscience, psychedelics and consciousness, cerebral organoids, non-local consciousness and psi research, AI consciousness, and the origins of life and mind — alongside daily concurrent sessions, poster sessions, experiential workshops, and evening social events including a luau dinner and poetry slam.
The conference is known for bringing together rigorous scientific and philosophical debate on the "hard problem" of consciousness — panpsychism, illusionism, integrated information theory, and quantum approaches like Orchestrated Objective Reduction — with speakers spanning MIT, Oxford, Stanford, and beyond.
