Uncovering Genius is a 5-day experiential outdoor training offered by the Somatic Nature Therapy Institute for therapists, coaches, and healers who want to deepen client work through nature-based parts work. Rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt Therapy, Ecopsychology, and somatic practice, the program guides participants in identifying, dialoguing with, and healing inner parts through relationship with the natural world.
The training is held at 9,200 feet elevation on private land in the mountains near Boulder, CO — an immersive environment for both personal and professional growth. Participants leave with practical tools applicable in indoor, outdoor, and virtual therapeutic settings. 36 NBCC CE credit hours are available for licensed professionals.
The program covers theoretical foundations of parts work, experiential exercises to uncover and dialogue with inner parts, nature-based tools for healing and integration, and methods for adapting this work across diverse therapeutic formats including intensives and couples work.
Led by Katie Asmus, MA, BMP, LPC, founder of the Somatic Nature Therapy Institute, with over two decades of experience in wilderness therapy, somatic practice, and international practitioner training.
