This 15-day retreat weaves together the sacred landscapes of Kerala, South India in a carefully paced journey led by yoga teacher Lesley Desaulniers and cultural guide Seema Johari. Beginning at the Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort on the Arabian Sea in Kovalam, participants receive grounding through daily yoga, meditation, and optional Ayurvedic treatments before moving through ashram life at Amritapuri, Kerala's backwater canals, the mountain tea estates of Munnar, and the wildlife of Periyar National Park, concluding in the historic port city of Cochin.
The retreat is designed as a gradual unfolding rather than a packed itinerary — practices emphasize steadiness, listening, and integration. Included highlights are a private overnight backwater houseboat cruise with chef-prepared Kerala cuisine, a Kathakali dance performance, a tea estate visit with harvesting experience, a cooking lesson with a local Keralan family, and a day at Amma's Ashram (Amritapuri).
