The Polyvagal Approach to Trauma Recovery Retreat | Aug 10-16, 2027 - Ubud, Bali

The Polyvagal Approach to Trauma Recovery Retreat is a 7-day immersive program running August 10-16, 2027 at the GDAS Bali Health and Wellness Resort near Ubud. Hosted by Life Architect and guided by clinical psychologist and trauma specialist Arielle Schwartz, PhD, the retreat explores how stress and trauma affect the autonomic nervous system and how to gently unwind those effects through body-centered practice.

The program weaves together didactic teaching grounded in Polyvagal Theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and somatic psychology with experiential work: therapeutic yoga and mindful movement, vagal toning, meditation, conscious breathing, and a guided Conscious Connected Breathwork group session. Participants learn practical tools for vagal tone, heart rate variability, and self-regulation for both personal and professional use.

The retreat is designed for therapists, psychologists and mental health professionals, yoga teachers and yoga therapists, coaches, and embodiment practitioners, as well as individuals seeking personal healing alongside professional development. The group is intentionally small. Three plant-based meals are served daily, and the schedule includes local experiences such as a rice terrace trek, waterfall visit, temple cleansing ceremony, gong sound bath, and Balinese massage.

The retreat is part of a 4-month journey: registrants receive a 12-day Introduction to IFS program, an online preparation circle and preparation guide before the retreat, and two online integration circles in the two months afterward.

Featured speakers: Arielle Schwartz, PhD.
